World Cup Filled With Amarula Cream

What better way to celebrate the World Cup than toasting with a liquor that represents the event’s host country?  Amarula Cream Liqueur originates from South Africa where the marula tree grows wild on the Savannah and attracts many animals, particularly elephants, which inspire the distinctive artwork on the Amarula bottle. To produce Amarula Cream, the marula fruit is gathered and the flesh pulped, sweetened and fermented. The resulting “marula spirit” is matured in oak casks for two years, and then blended with fresh cream to create a smooth distinctive creamy liqueur. Amarula is great straight up on the rocks or adds a note of delicate fruitiness (unlike Bailey’s Irish Cream) to a wide range of cocktails.  Here are some recipes to get you started courtesy of  Amarula Cream Liquor:

PENALTY KICK
1 ½ oz Amarula Cream-shaken
1 ½ oz Espresso

Layer ingredients into a shot glass: espresso first and then the Amarula Cream. Garnish with a sprinkle of chocolate or ground coffee.

VANILLA CREAM SHOOTER

½ oz Amarula Cream
½ oz Disaronno Amaretto
½ oz Vanilla Vodka

Layer all ingredients into a shot glass, Disaronno first, then the Amarula Cream and then the vodka.

SPRINGBOK

Ingredients:
½ oz Amarula Cream
½ oz Crème de Menthe

Layer ingredients into a shot glass, Crème de Menthe first and then the Amarula Cream.

Amarula Cocktail

AMARULA INDULGENCE
½ oz Amarula Cream
½ oz Brown Crème de Caçao
½ oz Disaronno Amaretto

Layer all ingredients into a shot glass, Brown Crème de Caçao first, then the Amaretto and then the Amarula Cream.

AMARULA B52

½ oz Amarula Cream
½ oz Grand Marnier
½ oz Kahlua

Layer all ingredients into a shot glass, Kahlua first, then the Amarula Cream and then the Grand Marnier.
