Huge Selection at Brooklyn Beer and Soda
If you’re looking for extreme variety when buying beer here in NYC, Brooklyn Beer and Soda is your destination! Situated beside an auto-body shop and marked with a shiny armored knight standing sentry outside, this retail-friendly beverage wholesaler is as sprawling as a supermarket. Stacked high inside are bulk cases of craft and domestic soda and beer.
Grab a 64-ounce glass growler and avail yourself of their extensive tap system connected to local micros like Blue Point Brewery out in Long Island and Six Point Craft Ales in Brooklyn’s Red Hook. Although prices are refreshingly low for bottles and cans (Budweiser 36-packs are about $20), it’s really this rotating selection of 8 mostly local drafts like Defiant Brewing’s malty Little Thumper to Brooklyn Brewery’s limited-edition Blue Smoke beer (specially formulated for the barbecue restaurant of the same name) that make this place an attraction.
Just remember to bring your own growler, otherwise its $5.50 to use one of theirs. Also, on Fridays and Saturdays, you can shop till midnight! So if you’re fickle and looking for a selection ranging from cheapo beer to super fancy obscure microbrews, there’s a good chance they have it.
