Chelsea Brewing Company
Located on Pier 59, The Chelsea Brewing Company’s huge copper-clad tanks loom large behind the polished mahogany bar overlooking the white tablecloth dining area and spectacular sunset views of the Hudson River. Little do visitors know, these seemingly placid digs are really the setting of a microbrew battle that has been waged against the mass produced giants since 1995. The Chelsea Brewing Co., Manhattan’s largest microbrewery, produces around 20 original beers bottling 100,000 cases annually, using their fully automatic grain-handling system, 46,000-pound grain silos, and an automated bottling system capable of handling 2000 bottles per hour. Featured signature beers now on tap:
Checker Cab Blond Ale
A crisp, pale golden ale made in the style of northern Germany “Kolsch beer. Made with the finest imported Noble Hops varieties & 10% Wheat malt giving this brew a dry finish with a complex and yet delicate hop flavor and aroma.
Sunset Red Ale
A medium bodied ale with the perfect balance between malt and domestic hop flavors and aromas. The use of “crystal malt” in the brewing process yields a rich caramel flavor with a light fruitiness.
